A shared evening of new and in-process work, Figuring Space, invites four Los Angeles-based artists – AMMA, Gurmukhi Desai Bevli, jeremy de’jon guyton, and Mamie Green – to respond to the architecture and context of MOCA's WAREHOUSE through movement. Trained in contemporary dance and choreography the artists are encouraged to experiment, improvise, play, and explore as they inhabit and figure out the space. Harnessing the building's industrial legacy and drawing attention to its contradictory uses—a former police car storage facility that is now an art museum in Downtown LA—each artist reconfigures and reflects the singular space.
