Kink Out is a bi-coastal collective that unites people of diverse identities with lived experience in BDSM culture through art, activism, community organizing, and conversation. With KINK OUT: EPHEMERA, a month-long residency, the collective transforms MOCA’s WAREHOUSE into an active archive for those who live and love differently. Drawing on physical and oral histories the residency brings together The Carter /Johnson Library and Collection, a compilation of printed material which celebrates sexuality from the 1700’s to the present day, and a regular schedule of performances, panels, workshops, and community events, to explore the intersection between contemporary art, activism, and leather, kink, BDSM, and sex worker communities.
Join us to celebrate the closing of the month-long residency, KINK OUT: EPHEMERA, with an afternoon of history, engagement, music, and performances fueled with food and drinks. The day focuses on an intergenerational panel adressing the history of sex work and leather activism and its relationship with contemporary art and culture. The panel is moderated by Chanelle Gallant and features Viola Johnson, Valeria Atreides, Jill Carter, Domino Presley, and Empress Wu. Music will be provided by DJ Star and EthicalDrvgs with live performances by the all Trans cabaret, BABiEDOllZ.
KINK OUT: EPHEMERA is co-organized with kd diamond and Daphne aka EthicalDrvgs in collaboration with The Carter/Johnson Library and Collection.
KINK OUT: EPHEMERA contains sexually explicit content. Parents should use discretion.

MOCA Visitor Code of Conduct
- MOCA respects the individual decisions of visitors and staff on wearing face coverings.
- Do not visit MOCA if you are feeling sick, have a fever, or have had any symptoms of COVID-19 or exposure to someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
- Follow all signage and staff instructions.
Food, drinks, backpacks (even if they are backpack purses), and large bags are not allowed in the museum. MOCA offers free bag check.
Service animals are welcome at MOCA. Please note that pets and emotional support animals are not permitted. We are happy to accommodate ADA Service Animals in our galleries.
Wheelchairs are available for check-out at the reception or lobby desk. Just inquire with a friendly MOCA Gallery Attendant when you arrive on-site. Wheelchairs will be wiped down with sanitizing supplies between uses.

MOCA reserves the right to refuse admission, control occupancy, or eject/remove any person without refund found violating the code of conduct or exhibiting unsafe, inappropriate, or disruptive behavior, or behavior likely to cause damage. Willful violation of the Code of Conduct and COVID Safety Protocols will result in the person being given a warning by MOCA staff or security and asked to cease and discontinue the behavior immediately.
