The MOCA Store is pleased to host an evening celebrating the release of Daniel Clowes’s graphic novel Monica, published by Fantagraphics. One of the most celebrated publications of 2023, and five years in the making, Monica represents the pinnacle achievement of one of the most influential voices in the medium.
Join the MOCA Store for an engaging conversation with Clowes, offering a rare glimpse into his creative process. Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the author in person during a book signing session, complete with an exclusive limited-edition bookplate.
Monica is a multilayered masterpiece that pays homage to various comic genres, including war, romance, horror, crime, and the supernatural. According to author Junot Diaz, the captivating journey through the life and stories of its enigmatic title character confirms Clowes’s “true superpower... a scabrously radiant honesty that ha[s] no equal in comics or ‘literature.’”
